about
Most of my life I lived in the midwest: Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. Despite moving so much as a kid, I tell people that I grew up in Noblesville, Indiana (about 30 miles north of Indianapolis). My family moved there (from Milford, Ohio) just before my 5th grade year and I lived there through the end of high school. After graduation in 2001 I moved to Bloomington, Indiana (about 45 miles south of Indianapolis) and lived there for 4 years: 2 of which I was in college, and 2 of which I was a dropout. After the rest of my class graduated in 2005, a couple of us moved to Seattle. It was cool for a few years, then my Indiana friends moved to Portland and I went to Antarctica. That was 4 years ago. I’ve gone back every winter since then (Oct to Feb, the Austral Summer), traveled for a few months in Oceania on my way home, and spent my summers in the Pacific Northwest. I officially moved to Portland in the Summer of 2009.
I’m sort of a nerd, and I like to take pictures. I’ve designed and programmed websites (and still do a bit); I’ve been a High School Substitute Teacher; an Apartment Maintenance Guy; a Pizza Delivery driver for Dominos; a Kirby Vacuum Salesman (for about 5 minutes); a Game Tester for Nintendo; and a Dish Washer, Plumber Assistant, Electrical Helper, and a Fuels Operator at McMurdo Station in Antarctica.

At some point in my life I hope to buy some land in the middle of nowhere, build a small shelter, grow some food, and grow old on it. That will be my own personal heaven.
