Walter the Plumber

Walter

I wouldn’t be loving my job this season near as much if Walter wasn’t a part of it. He’s one of the craziest, coolest, funniest old guys I’ve ever met. He’s like a character out of a movie, and sometimes I forget that he’s actually a real person.

He’s the one who gave me my first nickname (Pinky, because I wore a pink shirt on the first day of work) and now he’s testing out a new one: Turtle, because of a hat I found in skua. He and I are like 2 peas in a pod: we’re always walking around town together fixing leaking faucets or unclogging toilets, and he’s always saying, “Come on, Pinky, let’s go!”

And on top of all that, he’s got one of the thickest Maine accents I’ve ever heard: it makes the funny things he says that much funnier.
