traveling and writing
by Eli
the past month has been absolutely out of control, and there’s no indication that the months to come will be any more in control. it’s interesting how i blog more when i’m doing less (and should have less to blog about) because i have more time to sit around and write. i wish it were somehow the other way around (i guess that’s what twitter is for, huh?).
i’d love to go into all the gritty details of my adventures so far, but i find that kind of boring. sure there were cools things that happened, but it would be pretty painful for me to try and write all that out, and it wouldn’t be that awesome to read either. instead i decided to just make a quick little list of my activities.
- july 25th – finished up a month-long dog/house sit for the Steigs (with meredith)
- july 26th – flew from seattle to chicago
- july 28th – drove from chicago to pentwater (with nate and david) for a week at the Maki’s cottage on lake michigan
- august 4th – drove from pentwater to chicago (with nate and matt) just in time for ben and kat’s wedding; it was amazing!
- august 5th – drove from chicago to noblesville (with ryan, tash, and hanban) for my 25th birthday party!
- august 7th – went on a SEGWAY tour in downtown indy (with nate)
- august 10th – went behind the scenes at the indianapolis zoo (with meredith) and hung out with the walruses
- august 11th – drove down to bloomington (with nate)
- august 12th – drove back to noblesville (with nate [and meredith])
- august 13th – went on a hot air balloon ride (with meredith)
- august 14th – celebrated my mom’s 61st birthday (with mom, dad, kim, dave, nate, ian, and meredith)
- august 16th – started driving west (with nate)
and that’s about it.
finally got to go on that hot air balloon rid, huh?
damn right. it was amazing and i’ll be posting the photos shortly.
how many years has been since she “got” you that?
and a SEGWAY tour! awesome!
@bookis – it was sometime in august of 2005! crazy, huh? and it actually said “expires 8/30/07″ and we actually got to use it in time.
@pete – hell yeah, it was totally amazing.
