Wufoo

just the other day i discovered Wufoo: a really awesome form-builder site. you can create almost any kind of form, use it to gather information in many different ways, and then sort that information in almost any way you can imagine. they really have thought of everything. and the free plan they offer is pretty decent!

i wanted to play around with it a bit, so i decided to create a quality control survey. it’s super simple and it should only take you about 30 seconds to complete. it would mean a lot to me if you clicked the link below and told me your thoughts. thanks.

honest ebay seller

i was cleaning out one of my external hard drives tonight and i stumbled upon a screenshot labeled “HONESTY”. i double clicked it to find something very special. i don’t remember where i found it on ebay, but i DO remember seeing and capturing the shot.

i’ll just let the copy speak for itself.

my attempt at the impossible

i was checking out the most recent Photojojo article today when i noticed a job posting near the bottom. this is what it said:

We’re hiring! Wanted: One (1) superb writer & editor who luvs photography. $1000/month, part-time, and you get to have fun with photos all day. Tell your friends!

a $1000/month? for part-time work? that’s amazing! and you’d be writing and editing for Photojojo.com, a HUGE digital photography blog (over 100,000 hits per week). that would be a dream job for me. so i clicked the link in the box and it took me to the specifics.

this is when it gets exciting.

your first name here

there was a MAGICAL form on this “help wanted” page that knew everything there was to know about me. i entered my name and clicked the button. all off a sudden, the site reloaded and there was a list of over 15 things all about ME. it was like they had stolen my identity or something. sorta creepy, but at least they already knew i was qualified for the job.

but then i thought about antarctica and realized that they probably wouldn’t want to rely on me when i’m that far away without a solid internet connection. not to mention that i’ll be working about 60 hours a week in the kitchen when i’m down there.

but how cool it would be to be a part-part-time employee doing (maybe) 4 posts a month about digital photography tips… from the 7th continent? what a great idea, huh?

so i wrote them this note:

I just saw your job posting today, and i almost couldn’t believe my eyeballs.

When i typed in my first name and clicked “I want to know!”, there wasn’t a single thing on that list that didn’t apply to me. Seriously, did you guys steal my identity? Indentity theft is a serious crime, you now.

but seriously folks…

the sad part is that i won’t be around much longer because i’m going to ANTARCTICA for 5 months this winter! you just had to post that job NOW, didn’t you?

but then i thought, what if those crazy jojos wanted me to do a “special guest” thing where i give up-close, personal digital photography tips from the 7th contintent?

it was then that realized that i didn’t want to waste my time writing out my submission if y’all were just going to disqualify me because of my location.

i thought i’d write this little message instead.
