Blog . Eli Duke . Com

Hello! My name is Eli Duke and right now I'm hanging out in Portland, OR.

twitter

i know y’all are probably tired of hearing about it by now, but i had to make at least some sort of formal announcement.

i’m into twitter

i heard it through the grapevine, but was officially introduced by shane. soon thereafter i heard about from rands here, and then i found out that there’s a twitter app for facebook. it was time that i gave it the old college try. check me out:

so what is twitter? it’s like blogging, but on a much smaller scale. it’s like a more portable, more accessable, and more updatable AIM “away” message. but it’s also a lot of other things to a lot of other people.

twitter asks one simple question: what are you doing? all you have to do is answer that question and you’ve got it covered. i like to think of it as blog of stuff that’s not important enough to warrant a couple paragraphs. it’s the everyday sorta stuff that doesn’t usually get written down or noticed, and now there’s a cool little way to remember those things. and you can even update from your cell phone.

when you connect with friends online, you can select to “follow” them. this allows you to get updates whenever they post to their twitter account*. if 5 friends are “following” you, all 5 friends will get a text message when you update*. you can easily select* which friends you want updates from. it’s super easy.

if you decided to jump on the band wagon, be sure to let me know.

I've been waiting all summer for this, and it just had to show up 3 days before I leave. Thanks a lot, Portland.
