last winter a tree fell in the forest, made a sound, and landed on the south eastern corner of my cousins’ cabin. it poked a hole in the roof, but it could have been quite a bit worse. this past friday i went down to the cabin with my uncle craig and his sister, margaret, to clear the brush and cut up the felled tree.
they picked me up at the HotBox at about 6:30am, we stopped in Enumclaw to get a cutting permit, and made it to the cabin by about 9am. craig and i traded off burning brush and chain sawing. it was a lot of work and a lot of fun.

I had no idea how big it was until I looked at the last picture. that thing was pretty freakin’ big, huh? Time to shut off my compy to pack it up for the move. See you in a few days!
yeah, and those pieces of wood aren’t even the widest part, the tree fell from across the road that is in front of their cabin. the pieces you see in the picture are from the middle of the tree.
