my first credit card

that title really says it all, doesn’t it? my very first credit card arrived in the mail today, and with a $2000 credit line to boot! i’ve never even had a “just for emergencies” credit card from my parents or anything. now i’ve got $2000 burning a hole in my pocket and i’m gonna go buy an $800 camera in the next couple days. wow, this is exciting!
i have to assume that my ideas about this whole thing are those of grandeur. i mean, i’ve never had a credit card before. who am i to think that i’m going to be “responsible” with it? i can name half a dozen people off the top of my head who have some sort of credit card debt; it’s like a club i’m about to join or something.
my simple plan is as follows:
my sole purpose for having this card is to build credit, and i will only buy things that i already have the cash for.
sounds simple enough. i guess we’ll see how this goes.
subsequently, be ready for even more flickr photos in the months to come, especially those of the party nature. we are throwing down this weekend!
