so long, call center. hello, peter.

by Eli

it is official: this past friday was my last day working at the nintendo call center. it was a great 6 weeks, but now it is no more. and to be completely honest, i’m glad that it’s over: not in a “i hate that place” sorta way, more in a “it was good while it lasted but if i kept it up much longer i would start to hate that place” sorta way. i could see myself starting to get agitated with certain calls during in my last couple days.

and to be completely honest (yet again), the most annoying calls involved cleaning up someone else’s mess. i can’t tell you the number of times someone would call in and say, “hey, i called in before and the last person i talked to said this and this and this.” more often than not, the information they were given before was just plain wrong. completely wrong. wrong wrong wrong. and then that means that i first have tell the person they were mislead, and second that the correct information usually leaves the person worse off than the wrong information (“i’m sorry but we actually CANNOT recover your save data.”).

anyhoo, that is all over now and sometime in the near future (the next week or so) i will be going back to game testing. i’m really excited for that, but in the mean time peter is coming to visit. i should be meeting up with him in a few hours, and hopefully i’ll have at least the next couple days off to hang out with him. i’m sure there will be more to report about that as the week progresses.
