the weekend

this photo doesn’t really have much to do with what i’m talking about here, but i’ve always loved this photo, and i wanted to test the “blog this” feature of flickr. i was making fun of peter for having a pro flickr account and still uploading photos into wordpress for his blog. i suggested using flickr’s “blog this” feature and i wanted to try using it again just to make sure i knew how. anyhoo…
today is the first day of my first full weekend (2 days) in about 4 weeks. i’ve been working at the call center for Nintendo of America, and so my schedule had to match the “call volume.” it seems like forever since i’ve had a day off, gone to sleep that night, and woken up to another day off. it sickens me.
aside from all that, working at the call center is quite a bit better than i thought it could be. the calls are (for the most part) pretty easy, the callers are reasonable, and i have quite a bit of control and judgement that i can use. i rarely have to get a supervisor’s permission for things.
we are about a week away from the xmas rush, which i think is going to be very crazy. after that i’m hoping to slide back into game testing and keep working through april. if that all goes as planned, i’ll have saved enough money to take 4 months off this summer (may – august). it’s hard to say exactly what i’ll be doing then, but right now i’m imagining lots of kite flying and picture taking.
