wii would like to play

by Eli

things are getting pretty crazy at work. brandon and i are just about finished with our training, and we actually took some LIVE phone calls today. it was pretty cool being on the phone with real live people that actually wanted help with something. most of the calls we were taking today dealt with the Wii Component Video cable (which is quite the hilarious story), but unfortunately i don’t think i’m at liberty to go into that right now.

we have our official training check outs tomorrow (a little more than 48 hours before launch), and then i think we are going to be put right out onto the floor and onto the phones. we are probably going to get this weekend off, but come monday, we are going to be worked to our bitter end. from now until the end of january, brandon and i are going to be at the whim of the nintendo consumer service department. we will be working weekends (specifically the one immediately following thanksgiving), the week in between xmas and new years (the 26th through the 31st), and really any other time that is crazy busy.

so if you call the nintendo consumer service line (wii specific) sometime between now and the end of january you might be able to get ahold of one of us. i can’t guarantee it, but it’s possible.

when this stint of consumer service comes to an end, there are a few options that we are hoping for (in order of goodness, reverse order of likelihood): 1) we get hired by nintendo as consumer service reps, 2) we stay on as consumer service associates (temp), 3) we get hired back into game testing, 4) we get let go all together. we are banking on getting back into game testing, but it could really go either way (but probably not the “hired by nintendo” way).

wish us luck.
