since shane and i are now living together, we have doubles of some of the computer books that we both had. one of the best ways to get rid of books nowadays is to sell them on amazon. it seriously takes like 10 seconds to list a book and it’ll sometimes sell before you get done listing it (i know that sounds impossible, but it’s not).

in one particular case, we had 3 copies of one book. i think shane had 2 copies because he was planning on giving me a copy at some point, but then i had already picked up my own copy. anyhoo, i listed 2 copies of the same book and waited for them to sell. both copies sold in a few minutes, and when i was checking to see where they would be shipped i noticed that they were going to the same person. that seemed weird at first, but i thought, “well, maybe this person is doing the same thing that shane was doing and getting one for his friend.” not 5 seconds after i’d had that thought i received an email from the guy asking me to cancel one of his orders. turns out he only wanted one. i canceled his order and sent him an email letting him know, and this is the response that i got back:

hey, thanks, man, for the quick response.

i clicked the one click order thing and saw that it hadn’t registered, as it usually does very quickly, and thot maybe i hadn’t really ordered it. i thot, ‘when i clicked it did i REALLY click it?’ so then, instead of waiting, i clicked it again.

shit, i woulda just kept both books but no one i know knows shit about computers enough to do a website. they’re too busy drinking beer and listening to tunes to bother with it. so i’m the dude who does the computer shit. i learned HTML from a tutorial on the web 10 years ago but i haven’t yet learned the xHTML and CSS stuff and this book, after looking at some sample pages, is written in a way that i can understand the stuff.

sorry about the mistake. i won’t be in such a damn hurry to see my order next time.

if you’re interested you can check out my website here:

all original stuff done by me and my fellow white trash friends. writings, movies, photo slideshows. just a bunch of drunken fools doing arty shit. but it’s real people’s art not that shit in those stuffy museums.

howie seems like a pretty cool guy, doesn’t he? he get’s even cooler when you go to the site and check it out. it’s definitely white trash, but he says that right up front. it’s definitely not art that you’d see in a stuff museum, but he says that up front too. in fact, the site is exactly what he says it is, and i love it for that. in short, i love howie’s website because he and his friends are doing something creative with their lives with the tools that they have available for them.

keep it up howie, you rock.
